Comment: Apatites have two problems: They are 1. softer than tourmaline and 2. camera shy. That said they cost a fraction of a neon tourmaline. We did not buy these gems mistaken for tourmaline (though this happens in the best families, it wasn't the case here) but because these are the untreated versions of Apatite and they look very much like paraibas. They can be set in jewelry with care and are great fun to look at. Nice collector stone for a budget.
